Annual Lehman
Engineers Horse Trail Ride generated over $10,000 in donations thanks to the
generosity of sponsors, pledges collected from registered horseback riders, and
from the generosity of the participants at the silent auction.
All registered horseback riders received a free t-shirt and a free BBQ chicken lunch prepared compliments of Julie Kopp, General Manager of Hoss’s Family Steak and Sea in Bedford, PA. Food donations came from Imler’s Poultry, The Olive Garden, DelGrosso’s, Hoss’s Family Steak and Sea, Dunkin Donuts, Sheetz, Inc., Roaring Spring Bottled Water and Blair County Beverage.
Celebrity Emcee Joe Murgo of WTAJ -TV10 and Dreams Go On riders and their families welcomed the 65 plus riders on the crisp fall morning. A special horse trail was developed at the event by Terry Wentz of WaxWing Associates, Jeff Kennedy of Sheetz, Inc. and many volunteers. The bridle trail looped around the park creating an approximately 3.5 hour trail ride. Instructors from Dreams Go On led over 65 riders on the trail. Ms. Christine Wertz, Riding Instructor, spoke about the Parelli Method of training. The event also featured a silent auction with many items donated by individuals and businesses, including Beerbower Jewelers, The Altoona Curve, The Comfort Inn, The Hampton Inn, and Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Inc. of Colorado.
